Analysis Of A Clockwork Orange English Literature Essay
Analysis Of A Clockwork Orange English Literature Es supposeSinging in the rain, Im relation in the rain. As this vivacious song disappears into the terror of the night, the emergence of one of the greatest novels and moving-picture shows, A Clockwork Orange, begins to take shape. Anthony bourgeoiss contemporary novel, A Clockwork Orange, and Stanley Kubricks bang-up photographic film, A Clockwork Orange, based upon the novel, view spelly important similarities and differences, which supporter in confirming A Clockwork Orange as one of the most terrifying, yet extraordinary pieces of photographic film and literature ever to be created. One of the important similarities between Anthony Burgess novel and Stanley Kubricks outstanding movie of A Clockwork Orange is the interpretation of what the true message of A Clockwork Orange which is important because it is the basis for the intact story because he has been brain washed by the government to make him act the way they comp liments him to act. In A Clockwork Orange, Alex is only A Clockwork Orange, something machine alike(p) that appears organic. By this I mean that although Alex is human, and capable to say and think whatever he chooses, he cannot, for in fact he is being used want a machine by the government, doing whatever they desire with him. From the similarity between the interpretation of what the true meaning of A Clockwork Orange in twain Anthony Burgess contemporary novel and Stanley Kubricks outstanding movie of A Clockwork Orange comes the difference in how the government proves Alex to be resembling A Clockwork Orange, after having already entire the Ludovico Technique. In Anthony Burgess contemporary novel they prove Alex to be like A Clockwork Orange by showing him certain grotesque pictures and asking him what he felt. In Stanley Kubricks outstanding movie, they proved Alex to be like A Clockwork Orange by placing him on a stage with actors and presenting it in front of the importa nt members of the government. Please, I must do something shall I clean your boots Look, Ill get down and lick them. In Stanley Kubricks A Clockwork Orange this following passage is what Alex said in Stanley Kubricks movie after having been kicked in the Gulliver by the actors boot, which demonstrates Alexs mechanical change into A Clockwork Orange.Another similarity in both Anthony Burgess contemporary novel and Stanley Kubricks outstanding movie of A Clockwork Orange is the use of the Nadsat language. The Nadsat language, which is the vocabulary of the teenagers in the future, is important to be in both the book and movie because the language shows the difference between the violent teenagers and the intellectual aristocracy of this nightmarish future.Viddy well(p) brotha viddy well, What giveth then, old droogie? Nobody seemed to quite pony that, but somebody said in like a harsh goloss Ho, ho, ho Well, if it isnt fat stinking billy goat Billy Boy in toxicant How art thou, thou globby bottle of cheap, stinking chip oil? Come and get one in the yarbles, if ya have any yarbles, you eunuch jelly thou Be more respectful, boy, in addressing the Minister (A Clockwork Orange, rogue 173). This passage taken from Anthony Burgess contemporary novel exemplifies how teenagers talked, and that no one else seemed to understand pony what Alex was saying, exclude that it had to be disrespectful.A huge difference between Anthony Burgess contemporary novel and Stanley Kubricks outstanding movie of A Clockwork Orange is the differences with the second encounter with the man whose wife that had been raped and killed by Alex and his friends droogies. In Anthony Burgess contemporary novel, the man is exactly the same as he was except for his wife having been killed. In the book, the man asked to hear Alexs story and he mentioned the name Dim, whom sounded familiar to the man, and then for the start time he completed that Alex was one of those hoodlums who raped his wife tha t terrible night. Also, in the morning, the man called him down to eat breakfast, which gave Alex time to hurtle around in the mans bedroom where he found his name, F. Alexander, on his book. However, from this, Alex was used by F. Alexander as a political stunt in the hotel room without force and leaves the reader to assume that F. Alexander was obligated for brainish Alex to sheer madness to jump out of the window.Unlike Anthony Burgess contemporary novel, Stanley Kubricks outstanding movie was completely different in the second encounter with the man whose wife had been raped and killed by Alex and his friends. The man, having been shell so badly in the first encounter, was now in a wheelchair, and accompanied by a huge, strong man named Julian, whom helped F. Alexander do the things that he could not do in a wheelchair. Also, epoch Alex is offered a hot bath, he sang the song Singing in the Rain, which he had sung during the first encounter with F. Alexander. Having sung th is song, the man at once recognized and realized that Alex had been one of the hoodlums that were there on the night he had been beaten, and raped his wife. Also, having realized after the bath that Alex was responsible for his wifes death, he drugged Alexs confound rendering him unable to ever know the mans name, F. Alexander, and proving that F. Alexander was responsible for having tried to kill Alex by driving him to madness to jump out of the window.Anthony Burgess contemporary novel, A Clockwork Orange, and Stanley Kubricks outstanding movie, A Clockwork Orange, based upon the novel, have many important similarities and differences. These similarities and differences however, help to mold in my opinion one of the greatest novels and movies of our time. Upon reading and watch A Clockwork Orange it leaves me with just one final thought what will the world be like in the future?

Efficiency and Quality of its go (Cornell University, 2010). Thus, among other industries in the world, the Hospitality industry remains drug-addicted on the market pulse and good business sense. Good business sense refers to the operation schema and business strategy that would result to operation efficiency and quality service. The marriage of engine way of life and human smartness are very much apparent in the hotel industry by deploying an Enterprise Resource Planning arrangement. As applied to the hotel industry, it would ensure excellent client experience from their reservation up to their next visit. The deployment of a Customer Relationship Management System would ensure that all issues are addressed and monitored and shall similarly ensure that the business is properly guided on how to become client centric. However, engineering science will not work on its ingest as its success will be dependent on the employees who use the system and those who will execute the work instructions recommended by the system.A framework that will capitalize on the strength of the employee enabled by technology shall be the onus of this paper. The sole purpose of which is to ensure the customer think operation of the hotel while practicing processes that feed on continual improvements to manage the bottom line. Using these strategies, Leadership in the industry and profitability should not be far behind.METHODOLOGYThe valuable discussions in Operation Management have been the inspiration by this writer to seek out to a greater extent knowledge in hobbyhorse of excellence. Thus, it led to the discovery that the concepts presented herein have been in existence for some cadence, and various authors not exactly wrote extensively on the subjects but they have exhaustively been part of its continual improvement so to speak. Capitalizing from the experiences of these counselling gurus and the erudite deliberation in Operations Management this author and so recommend a more comprehensive examination of the Hotels Customer Service.Using the ISO 90012008 Quality Management System framework, this author shall discuss the merits and intelligence of its implementation in this paper in support of the Hotels operation and primordial goal. It is ideal to implement the quality management system in all the processes of the Hotel to ensure that there will be no curtain raising that can dissuade if not prevent the Hotel from creation the center for customer service excellence. The ISO 9000 Quality Management System have previously been regarded as applicable lonesome(prenominal) to the manufacturing industry since it normally refers to the quality in the creation of a product. However, in ISO 90012008 Quality Management System the word product can alternately refer to as service1. The hospitality industry has long been recognized a service-oriented industry (Ramaswamy). Its main product is unlike some(prenominal) other industry since its product is the service provided by the hotel employees. The quality prosody of hospitality service is equal to the amount of triumph of each customer multiplied by the weigh of customer over a period of time.THE HOTELThe hotel is a five star hotel that is highly profitable and familiar privately owned located in the center of an international city with a high level of tourist traffic, particularly international tourists. It boasts of a two hundred fifty suites, two dining entourage, one of which offers a standard menu and pose three hundred people while the other seats only a hundred but it offers discriminating a la carte choices for an upscale market. The hotel to a fault has two cocktail bars one that is publicly accessible from the streets while the other is for hotel guests only however twain are open to guests and non-guests alike. The hotel is home to three kitchens, with the two serving the two dining rooms while the third serve s the three function rooms rented for parties, weddings, conferences and other similar events. The function rooms seat fifty, two hundred and one thousand, respectively while each function room can have their own bars if required. The hotel similarly provides other facilities that would include a swimming puss, gym, sauna and a car super acid with one hundred and fifty private bays. The hotel employs both permanent full-time and part-time contract workers. each area has its own supervisor, with qualified and experienced charabancs overseeing the supervisors for the respective departments. As indicated, not only does the hotel enjoy a modest profit from its operation, it boasts of a decent amount of guest and patron traffic from its hotel and facilities operation.Design intent a particular type of service impacts the hotels customers to enrich their stay or their hospitality experience is a practical application of this concept as depict by Slacks and Johnston in 2004. To illustra te the tendency process in the formulation of a process that will provide passing guests with discounted rates if they return during the off-peak or lean days will ensure occupancy during the lean months and expand marketing exposure.SupplyRaw materials used as ingredients to hotel food are sensitive to spoilage and contamination thus it is beta to manage its handling from delivery, storage and inventory. The release of the goods from storage should be strictly enforced and implemented finished proper tagging and warehousing strategy. To illustrate Meat products can last for a certain period with refrigeration but must also consider volatility and seasonality to its supply. The system predicting the usage of the hotel base on its routine consumption and the scheduled events shall either place an order or forego an order automatically and later implement First-in- archetypical-out in the warehouse with the use of the inventory tag.PlanningPlanning within the scene of the hospi tality industry often relates to Business Planning. Case in point, the hospitality business is sensitive to the time of the year particularly its occupancy. From July to August is normally the time when air travel is at its busiest due to the pass vacation in the United States and some countries. Hotels outside the United States that are vacation destinations of Americans are at its busiest. However, during the lean months, when occupancy is at its lowest, hotel managers and administrators creativity are normally put to test.To illustrate a workable business strategy during the lean months is to pre-sell the room through discount cards. The concept is to sell discount cards at a price of one or two nights stay that will be availed only during the lean months. Modest discounts may be availed by cardholders including the facilities or services offered by the Hotel. The card shall back up within one year from its issuance to give the hotel the opportunity to sell continuously the un occupied hotel rooms during the lean months.Shop-floor controlShop floor strategies include Job and shift Scheduling, housekeeping, Process improvement and change magnitude process efficiency in the context of providing quality service. ISO 90012008 has closed the gap between a existent product and service that both demand quality. According to the system, the dress hat way to ensure quality service is to identify focus areas, then to provide measurable targets that are congruent with the focus areas goals. The environment some hotels realize their impact to the environment of the local community and as part of their strict adherence to their merged conscience social responsibility often adopts a sound environmental management system. Not only would this comply with the international initiatives regarding environmental concerns but in practice, this will also respond well to its incorporate social responsibility initiatives.TechnologyThe use of technology to lower the cost of op eration through the mechanization of processes and increase the earnest at the hotel is a strategy that does not normally provide a indubitable and visible result overnight. To illustrate Supply Chain Management as envisioned is a technology driven strategy that will ensure that raw materials used as ingredients for food do not spoil or do not get contaminated. The strategy requires inventory neighboring(a) tagging in each delivery. By providing sterilize keys to every guest, a hotel management system would be able to adjust the room temperature and the Air Handling Unit load depending on the rooms that have activated keys. Using the secure keys inserted in its slot will enable the system to determine the additional load needed for the air conditioning requirement instead of the Air Handling Unit continuously operating even without any guest inside is a waste of energy. The Hotels CUSTOMER SERVICEThe hotels customer does not start turn a customer when he finally pays the initia l down payment for a room or service, he does not start suitable a customer at the instant he shows up at the hotels premises or orders his first drink from the bar. A guest or patron starts becoming a customer as soon as he says the first word to any of the hotels staff, telemarketer or even parking attendant or human being (Borsenik Stutts, 1997). Ergo, all aspects of the hotels operation almost concern itself with customer service. Customer service is not merely providing the hotels service to the guests or patron, it is making sure that the customer is genial and fulfilled in the usage of the facilities including their encounter with the hotels staff (Michelli, 2008). Therefore, all processes that will affect the customer at a time or indirectly are customer service providing processes. To illustrate the reservation clerk represents the hotel as its first liner when the customer called in to reserve a room or book the one of the services of the hotel. A beautiful conversati on would result to immediate booking and a not so pleasant conversation is the loss of a potential client. The interaction with the military mans or the parking attendants may be the wink encounter of the hotel with its customer. The next would be the door person, the front desk, the concierge, the room boy, the hotel cleaners and then floor security for hotel guests. While for those partaking and enjoying the services of the Hotel would be entertained from the door person by the receptionist and then the floor manager or the facilities attendant. The guests would then be interfacing next with the waiters if they were at the bar or restaurant, the lifeguard for the swimming pool and fitness instructor for the gym and sauna. To illustrate the indirect service providers in the Hotel that ensures not only the satisfaction of the guests or patron they themselves are responsible for the behind the scene hospitality experience. These would include the kitchen staff that would include the chef and those responsible for preparing the food. The engineer that ensures the temperature of the pool and the gym is optimal or the pencil eraser engineer monitoring the safety levels at the sauna, the hallway and lobby temperature. The indirect service providers also include the cashiers that provide the correct change and charges, the security guards that ensures the safety of the guests and the surrounding. This also includes the janitorial staff that ensures the health of the guests by making the immediate surrounding scraps or dirt free. The processes that govern the operation and performance of the customer interaction of the services provided as described shall be the focus of the Quality Management System framework of ISO 90012008 (International Organization for Standardization, 2008). Aligning with the Vision, agency, Values and system of the Hotel the Quality Management System framework will allow the Hotel to define its own Quality Mission assertion that states the personality of the hotel. Each of the processes followed or implemented by the process owners as described supra that interacts with the Hotels guests, patrons or customers, in general, shall be covered by the Quality Mission Statement.Juxtapose with the Quality Missions Statement aligned processes, Key issuance Areas will be developed will remain the targets of the processes. The Key Result Areas should be customer centric and should work towards the attainment of the best hospitality experience of the guests or patrons as provisioned by the Hotel. In order to measure the success of the process owners in achieving their key result areas, prosody in the form of key performance indicators for each process are to be developed. To illustrate The valet service is often neglected by most Hotels but its importance and the opportunity it presents to save the Hotels send off from the customers bad experience from the services of the hotel is precious being the last process the customer ha s to go through before leaving the hotel. The possible key result area for the valet services could be the immediate return of the guests vehicle to him. The key performance indicators could be the amount of time it will take the valet to retrieve the car and return it to the owner. The idea would be the shorter the amount of time it takes to retrieve the car the more satisfied the customer would be.CUSTOMER SERVICE ChallengesCultural SensitivitiesThe primary challenge in any customer service is the differences in the personality or origins of the guests. Cultural sensitivities often create friction between the service provider and the customer. To illustrate in the west shaking the head from side to side often means no, however in some culture particularly the Indian culture it means yes.Gender and other SensitivitiesAt times, being chivalrous is being sexist while being helpful to people with disabilities is being offensive. A balance and clear criteria are should be studied depe nding on the area where the Hotel is located so as not to compromise quality service with sensitivities.SummaryThe hospitality industry has evolved from an industry that only provided board and lodging to transient travelers in the previous century to an actual destination that offers a innumerous of services to weary travelers and to vacation and relaxation seekers. The Quality Management System as enabled by technology should provide the edge to the hotel in terms of managing its bottom line from the business perspective while also providing the framework in determining the best way to service its guests and patrons. The Quality Management System therefore will equally define the customer centric culture of the hotel geared towards providing the best, if not one of the best hotel experience to its guests. The continual improvement concept of the Quality Management System will engender excellence in the very fiber of the hotels staff. The key performance indicators shall provide th e metrics to gauge the efficacy of the process including the performance of its employees. The root cause analysis as well as the development of the corrective and preventive solution is essential to the concept. One of the virtues of ISO 9001-2008 Quality Management System is that it would let the hotel develop its own Quality Management framework as derived from the hotels unique culture. The hotel shall not only reflect its personality but it shall be the driving force towards excellence in customer service. The commitment to customer service as driven by the Quality Management System shall therefore be personal not only for the organization, but also for the individual employees.

The Libertarian Manifesto By John Hospers Philosophy Essay
The Libertarian Manifesto By John Hospers Philosophy Es swearThe Libertarian Manifesto by John Hospers is something that is equated with the honorable problem surrounding the dissemination of wealth, amongst other things. Hospers (1996) argues that when it comes to the distri only whenion of income, throng should fend for themselves. He opposed arguments such as an animadversion to feed the hungry because in the libertarian world, hunger simply would non go through (Hospers, 1996). Hospers (1996) begins his article by noning the definition of libertarianism, which is that people control a unspoiled to make their own decisions and lead their own lives, as long as their decisions do non interfere with any unrivalled elses life. There is a problem as it respects the distribution of wealth, but for the libertarian it is not a problem. The individual has a castigate to decide what he or she wants to do. Hospers (1996) ideas, and the ideas of many libertarians, are equated with th e opinion that every man can fend for himself, and in the end, every iodin will constitute exactly what they want. Hospers (1996) believes that the make up to private property is basic. On some level, one ability equate his ideas to natural rights ethics. Clarke Linzey (1996) write The idea of natural rights implies that there is an essential human nature which determines this status and a moral commit government the relations of human beings as such, independently of the laws of all special societies (598).The ethical rule used by Hospers (1996) in respect to wealth distribution would be that it is permissible to follow ones desires and not to worry closely(predicate) others in society. This is because they have their own paths. That is, it is not an obligation for society to build care of everyone in its midst. The duty is for the individual to be accountable to himself. Yet, it is overly true that there are interactions between people. Hospers (1996) provides examples of situations in respect to how one should act, and certainly, the society is accountable to the individual on some level not to influence things too frequently. For the libertarian, it is scant government that is the best government. Hospers (1996) writes Government is the near dangerous institution known to man (27).The factual claims made by Hospers (1996) are associated with observational and historical facts. Nothing he says can be proven, but anecdotal evidence is used to support the authors points. A savant asks whether or not Hospers position meets the fourth criteria for valid scheme, which are symmetry and coherence, rational justification, plausibility, and usefulness.First, it should be said that the theory is coherent, and while it is largely consistent, it is uncontrollable to be completely consistent with the notions in libertarianism. There are exceptions. Hospers (1996) writes about freedom where people have a right to do and say as they like, but even freed om of speech has limits. He writes Indeed, the right to property may well be considered second only to the right to life. Even the freedom of speech is limited by considerations of property (Hospers, 1996, 25). He goes on to explore other issues and provides examples of when people cannot say what they like (Hospers, 1996). speckle the theory is consistent, there are exceptions to everything and this muddies the waters. One can take things hike by examining contemporary examples. For instance, people believe that they have the right to free speech. Hospers (1996) says that people cannot shout obscenities in a church because the property is not designated for that purpose. Enter property rights. Yet, in society today, people do have a right to their opinions. At the same time, with the political correctness movement, people are not entitled to utter certain things without their rights being challenged by the law. If someone utters a derogatory racial remark and ends up in a fight, h e can be charged with a hatred crime. On some level, this is thought control. As abhorrent as ones thoughts might be, the idea to outlaw certain forms of speech and not others imposes limits, thus ambitious some pure libertarian notions. While this idea does not take by from the validity of the position, it certainly challenges its consistency. Is the position rational? It is a reasoned argument. In fact, the article provides much support for the premise, and the support is based on logic. honourable criteria are included and the author does make a sound ethical arguments that are also plausible. While the points are well reasoned, the argument at the end of all of this is whether or not someone can conquer poverty to exist in a world of plenty. The libertarian provides a what if argument. In other words, the libertarian claims that if things were a certain way, there would be no poverty, but the world is not completely libertarian so the point is moot. Poverty persists, so whil e the argument may be sound in this what if scenario, it does not address solutions for the status quo. What does one do with the poor today? emolument is another issue. If one is not operating in a libertarian world, the theory is only useful if the world were that way. Theoretically, Hospers (1996) provides an excellent paradigm, but it may not be possible to achieve his ideas in reality. In the United States, contrastive ideas are supported and compromises are made. Hospers (1996) brand of libertarianism could not flourish in this sort of situation. Similarly, in totalitarian regimes, there is much too much force in play to go from such a pose to one of complete freedom. Libertarianism is a sound theoretical model, but it is secret whether or not it could ever be successfully implemented.

Fundraising on the other hand is usually the result of a distinct project or campaign that collects money from the public(Institute of fundraising, 2006).To conclude, Fundraising is the process of soliciting and convention voices as money or other resources, by requesting gifts from individuals, businesses, charitable foundations, or governmental agencies. Although fundraising typically have in minds to social track downments to gather money for non-profit organizations, it is approximatelytimes used to refer to the identification and solicitation of investors or other sources of capital for-profit enterprises.Working in groups wholeness of the important grades in the course for me was workss with a group. As most of th e course attendance worked out front in fundraising and have some realize in this field and I was afraid of affecting the kinetics of the group I am in, but my expectations were not true as the power of the team depend on the variety of knowledge and disposition of the members of the team. That was the first lesson I learnt, team work is a group effort and each member in this group contribute by his avouch knowledge and experience in improving the work of the solely team. agree to the SheronFerguson theinstructor of the course, the team is a group of individuals who have a common aim and have a regular and frequent interaction with each other. The course indicates that experts in team development agree that teams will go through five different stages. How fast a team moves through each stage will depend on the team members, their individual skills, the work they are expected to do, and the type of leadership available to the team.Bruce Tuckman deemed the five primary(prenomi nal) stages of team development in order as Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing and Mourning. The first stages of team building which isthe forming stage is important for any team because, in this stage, the members of the team get to know each other and exchange some information roughly their personalities. Which is portion out a good opportunity to pay out how each member of the team works as an individual and how they act to pressure. After that every group will enter the storming stage asdifferent ideas debate for consideration (Tuckman, 1965). The team addresses issues such as what problems they are really supposititious to solve, how they will work independently and together and who will lead the whole operation. Team members open up to each other and confront each others ideas and perspectives. The storming stagecan be contentious, unpleasant and even painful to members of the team who are antipathetic to conflict but it consider necessary to the growth of the team. In this stage I was able to build a connection with my teams members as I found out that thinking and sharing ideas with a group helped me in strengthen these connections, Moreover, it demos me how each member can contributes in improving any idea.In the norming stage the team manages to have a mutual architectural plan to achieve its physique and address. During this stage some may have to give up their own ideas and agree with others in order to hand the teamwork,as all the team members have the ambition to work for the success of the coatings of the team. One of my teams was consisting of a fundraiser working with women rights charity, a manger of a soldiers care charity and my self, our project was to deport a businessmanto present for our charity which was a Bay watch animation boats, we discussed each one idea just around how we will reach our goal and my idea was apply the media such as television set interviews with one of the survivors who was salvage by our life boats, and after discussing suggestions and ideas we decided to reach our goal by using different kinds of visual mean, we used a PowerPoint presentation to show the come and figures of how our charity contributes in helping and saving people, we used television interviews with two survivors who were saved by our charity. All that was through discussing the possible ideas that will work for the success of the goals of the team. The performing stagehappen when a teams are able to work as a unit as they find ways to get the job done effectively without conflict or the sine qua non for remote supervision. In this stage the team members become interdependent, motivated and knowledgeable. The mourning is considering the be stage when teams break up when the work is over they celebrate and fleck group achievement. Then some mourning over the dissolving of the team as the project ended. According to Ferguson for around-the-clock work teams, there may be a blueer performance tra in as they develop and transform as individuals and reform into revised teams. It is important to note that continuous work teams may revert to prior stages when new people are added to the team.It was very interesting to learn all these information on the team development, as I didnt experienced working in a teams before as I learnt in this course, I worked during the period of the course with quartette different teams in order to reach different levels of communication and to experience what are the advantages of being a member of a team, what kind of contribution I may add to the work of the team to raise the level and the quality of the outcome.Regulations and LawIn the United Kingdom, there are laws and codes of practice covering public events, collections, lotteries and others. These laws and codes of practice include the frame in that legalise the acceptance or refusal of bribe, accountability and transparency in fundraising, best practice for fundraising contracts, chariti es working with business, information protection and many others(Ciconte, 2008).The only problem I go well-nigh in learning this function was the limitation and the focusing on the British laws and regularisation of any charity work. further in spite of that I learnt a very important information that the laws and ruler is set to view the relationship between the benefactors and the trustees and protect the benefactors during the funding process, which was a very precious information to me because I always thought about how to profit the people who in need without considering the benefactors and what kind of welfare they will have in exchange of their funding. And thatled me to think to a greater extent about the bestowers motivations to donate in order to understand how to use this motivation to benefit the project or the endeavor I work to achieve. Also knowing about the internal ordination of each charity helped me understand the importance of knowing the internal regula tion and mission of the nongovernmental organization I am working with. There was an activity, which I found very interesting as the instructor told us a funding opportunity case which was a big amount of present from some employees in a cigarette factory to a lung crabmeat charity. The case was whether the charity can accept this donation or not. well-nigh of my colleagues in the course thought that the charity can accept this donation because the sponsors are the employees and not the cigarette factory while others argued that these employees may be a form of representation to the factory which will affect the lung crabmeat cause, a small group couldnt decide whether the charity could accept the donation or not because they thought that this is a arduous situation and more research is needed. This activity opened my eyes on seeing problems from different angels also the understanding the need for studying and knowing the internal regulation of the charity as well as the exte rnal.Funding sources and motivationFunding of not-for-profit, Non Government Organisations, or CharitableOrganisations comes through a number of streams. According to Ferguson the sources of fund come fromNational Government funding which comprises multiple strands through various(a) departments including Health, Education, Tourism etcLocal Government funding which also comprises multiple strands through various departmentsCharitable Trusts and FoundationsChurches and similar institutionsCorporations, which gives fund in a wide-eyed variety of ways such as sponsorship, secondment through which cater work for the charity but paid by the corporate, and many other ways. The National lottery, which have a grant programs.Individual donorsEach of these hastheir own criteria with their respective application and reporting oraccountability requirements and varying levels of engagement with the fundapplicant. There is no consistency in criteria or uniformity of application across any ofthe se funding sources. As Mixer argued that fundraisers moldiness understand the fundamental interview of wherefore people givemore systematic analysis of donor motivation and notionual frameworks are needed so fundraisers can carry out their tasks more effectively (Mixer, 1993).Here are some of the donors motivations we discussed during the course, which gives an image about what kind of donors we will deal with and what are there motives to donate depression in mission, institutional need, publicity, change image, good re installation, religious Beliefs, establish a legacy, joy of giving, tradition in family, make a difference in society, building community relationship, memorialize someone, tax benefits, capital campaign, knowing other supporters, solicitation by peer, recognition of gift, expand social network, access to charity events. These motivations shape the ways and methods that will be used in order to deal with the donors. Knowing these motivations helps in designing the wining project and get the fund needed, and the key knowledge to these motivations is through research, which consider on of the most important element in the fundraising techniques that I learned in this course.Another concept related to funders motivationthat I learned was the donors development benefit, which explain how to take donors to the undermentioned level of giving. The pyramid illustrates many methods by which the donors first know about the charity and choose to give them their support. Using this pyramid is to achieve a goal of ensuring these new funders will donate again and will move up in the pyramid. The donor development tool is a pyramid shape because as I come on to engage donors up the numbers of donors decreases, though the value of the donation increases. The main lesson in this section that I need to focus attention on every level of the pyramid I build to ensure that there will be a sustainable income to my NGO.Volunteers Contented Clients Donors Magazi ne InsertsBoard/Committee Friends Visitors Press/Adverts(Institute of Fundraising course book, 2010)Fundraising techniquesFundraising is a valuable part of the strengthening ofNGOsany kind of contributions is needed by them to carry out their planned activities. Marketing is considering the commercial name for fundraising as many of the techniques and skills of fundraising was adapted from it. While marketing and sales skills can be valuable, they must always be applied in an honest manner. Every fundraiser must first be completely convinced of the value, faithfulness and benefits of the organization, and the activities for which the raised funds will be used. When we reached this section I was strike with knowing that there are some fundraisers who dont believe in this methods as they can marketing any project even if they dont convinced by its value to society. The success of any fundraising program depends on the ability of supply to attract the participation of new potential donors. Goals are a strong motivator in any sales effort and consider the tenderness of fundraising. The fundraising team leadershould set the right types of goals in order to motivate his team. When a goal of fundraising campaign is set, it is important to be aware that the goal is high enough to motivatethe team to put extra effort, but it shouldnt be very high so it will be difficult to reach. However, if participants see the goal as realistic, theyll push themselves harder than you may have even dreamed possible, just to make sure they conform to or exceed what is expected of them. One of the key skills of fundraising how to tell a donors and potential supporter about the work of the organisation, this skill is fundamental to fundraising.A good fundraiser should be able to show donors how their donation will transform the ability of the charity to meet the of necessity of its beneficiaries, and make a positive change. Before thinking about fundraising, the trustees and staff sh ould put together a plan. And they should be clear about the key objectives and outcomes that neededto be achieved, and how fundraising will help achieve those goals. The fundraising cycleThe Case for Support, explains in exposit why a donor should give to the charity and therefore it should be clear, concise and motivating. It must bring enough information to enable a donor to make an informed decision. The case for support presents the rationale for encouraging a fund-raising campaign or project. It is consider one of the most goodly tools that the organization can have in communicating its fundraising objective and in persuading potential donors to donate(Institute of fundraising, 2006). Therefore, it should enjoin the organizations reason for being, its register, the integrity of its mission, vision, and programs, the good it does, the good it aspires to do, an appraisal of need for the campaign, and the specifics of the campaigns objectives. The case should state the organiza tions unique ability to fill the show need of an identified constituency, affirm the efficiency of campaign planning, instil a feeling of intrinsic personal reward to the donor, and, very importantly, convey a sense of urgency ((Institute of fundraising, 2006).During this section the instructor ask us to restore a case for support in five legal proceeding, and then present it in front of others. It was a hard task as it was difficult to create a case for support in that few minutes but I tried to create a case for backup a project based on forum theatre. I couldnt make a perfect case but it was not bad. The instructor explained why she needed us to finish this task in five minutes as we may meet a potential donor any where even in an elevator and we must to be prepared all the time. Also, research is essential to inform the charity about which donors might reply to the case for support. It will help identify the individuals, companies or trusts whom most believably to respond.T ake into account any relevant internal and external factors that may influence the success of raising the fund.Organising activities ensure that the potential donors are adequately resourced. Finally,It is essential to monitor and evaluate the successes and failures of these activities, as it is consider a great mean of meeting and discussing potential donations.(Institute of Fundraising course book, 2010)Grant marriage offerOne of the major techniques in fundraising is makeup a grant marriage proposal to donors or agencies. During the course I had to work on writing a grant proposal to understand in a practical way the weak points and how to improve it to achieve my goal and obtain the quest fund. The good proposal should contain some important elements to strengthen the project and make it accepted from the donors. screenland letter exposes the organization, its mission, and specifically states what the organizationis asking for from the donor. The cover letter includes the amount of requested fund. It is consider being a chance to let the funder know up front that the organization understandthe funding agencys goals, and thus fulfills their requirements. Executive Summary. The executive abstract is considering one of the most challenging parts of the grant proposal because it should be concise and panoptic. The abridgment should in instruct showthe name of the project, services, procedures, targets group, objectives and expected outcome. The importance of the summary that funding agencies receive several funding proposals and may not be able to read it all, and therefore the summary need to describe the briefly and clearly the project. reconcilement of Need. In your statement of need, you must clearly articulate the need your grant proposal is addressing, and you must do it in a reader-friendly manner. The need statement, or problem statement, explains why the issue is important, and why your nonprofit is the right organization to provide a solut ion. Include background research, such as historical data, as well as stories that illustrate the need your proposal addresses. Goals and objectives. In this section, capture the grant reviewers attention with powerful, persuasive language. State what your nonprofit hopes to achieve, including specific results and/or outcomes, using key words like Increase, reduce, provide, protect, improve and others. Your goals will be broad statements, and may be abstract. But its critical that your proposals objectives be concrete, precise and measurable. Objectives are explicit statements as to how you will work toward reaching your overarching goal.In preparing a project design, and when writing a proposal, the goals of the project are stated. The goal is easily defined as the solution to the problem that has been identified. The problem with such a goal is that it is too general it is not easy to obtain consensus as to when it has been reached. That is why, when preparing project documents, a distinction is do between a goal and an objective. An objective is derived from a goal, has the same intention as a goal, but it is more specific, quantifiable and verifiable than the goal. When identifying objectives as part of an exercise in preparing a project design or proposal, use the SMART acronym as a checklist, to see if the objective is a good objective. The objectives must be derived from, and consistent with, the intention of the identified goals. SMART. stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, practical(prenominal) and Time-Bound.Methodology. The methods section of your grant proposal tells the reviewer how your nonprofit will hit its stated objectives. Your methods must be clear and concise, and leave no doubts in a reviewers mind. Write the methods section with the assumption the reader knows nothing about your nonprofit or your project. In addition to tying your program design to your objectives, this section should reference your statement of need and your c ypher. All methods and activities must be feasible and logical. Evaluation. The evaluation section is where many nonprofit grant proposals bowling pin short. It is also one of the most important sections for grant reviewers. The evaluation section is where you explicitly state how you will measure your projects results. Granting agencies want to know your accomplishments will be objectively measurable, and that there will be hard usher that their dollars did some good. Clearly state what eternalises you will keep and/or what data you will collect. Data may be quantitative, qualitative, or a combination.Project Sustainability. Grant agencies want their funds to both produce results and facilitate emerging results through project sustainability-either with or without their additional help. Indeed, if youve written a strong grant proposal so far, the reviewer will care profoundly about seeing that your services continue over the long term. In the sustainability section, state your forthcoming plans for the project, after the grant money requested has been used. In other words, tell the grantor how your organization will raise money to continue its programs in the future. Your future-funding plan can include a mix of strategies and sourcesorganisational Information. The organizational information section is where you provide detailed information about your nonprofit organization. This is also where you write to impress the reviewer. Spin a compel narrative about the uniqueness of your nonprofit and include a brief summary of your statement of need. Using persuasive dialogue, let funders know that your organization is the best qualified to carry out the projects you have outlined. Explain your nonprofits history and background, provide its mission statement, describe its programs, state the recipients of its services, and give its track record to date. Offer a compelling overview of your nonprofits role in the community, and its important accomplishments. Bud get. The budget section must be professionally done in order to create confidence in the organization. In this section, the project cost must be shown with providing an explanation of each expense. This is called a detailed budget that include project expenses, administrative, and every other expanse. Also it must include any expected income. The last task of the courseOur last task in this course was creating a fundraising plan for a small local anesthetic hereditary pattern preservation charity, which was elected the best charity of the year from a local supermarket chain. A workhouse in the local community was about to be destruct as it was very old and needs renovations. Our mission was to convince the maturate of members of the local charity of the importance of buying this workhouseas heritage representative, as well as planning a whole fundraising plans to buy, renovate and use this workhouse. It was a very useful activity in this course because it rape up what we learnt in the course and put it in a practical shape, which benefit the whole group. The experience I got from this course will help me in my career, as I needed this knowledge to complete my study in theatre and development. This course was beneficial to me in many aspects first I learnt the basic of being a successful fundraiser, second it gave me the opportunity to meet other people who work in the field of fund raising which I benefit from there various experiences, finally this course introduce me to a available knowledge which I think I need in my career, for this I decided to learn more about NGO management to help improving the NGO I am working with.ConclusionAttending this course benefit me in understanding the foundation of fundraising practice, which can be concluded in relationship building between fundraisers and the donors. As in order to get people on your side you need to foster a relationship with them. Reaching out to people bypreparing acase for supporting your cause or proj ect, which they can relate to and sympathize with, is essential. Also understanding the motives of donors help you in strengthen you relationship with them depending on their motives in donating to your NGO. Teamwork benefit improving the relation between the fundraisers and donors as the members of the teamwork together to achieve one goal which is convincing donors to donate to their NGO of supporting their project.Understanding fundraising techniques help in improving the status of the charity as by using the case for support technique a fundraiser can raise fund and donation almost anytime and anywhere. Also organising different activities helps in building a good environment to meet new potential donors. Finally using a good application or project proposal helps the donor in understanding the value of the proposed project also allow him to trust the NGO who ask for this donation. The main elements strengthen the application are writing a cover letter which is consider a very im portant element as it present the NGO, its mission statement and what this NGO needs from the donor. The next step is writing the executive summary that gives an overview of the idea of the project. It is consider the most challenging parts of the proposal, as it should be both comprehensive and concise. Using SMART objectives helps the donors in understanding the project as it show, summaries and frame the objectives of the project. Preparing a reasonable budget helps in building confidence in the organization. This budget must show and clarify the whole expenses of the project whether it was major or minor expenses. Finally the planning of sustainability of the project strengthen the proposal as donors want their funds to both produce results and facilitate future results through project sustainability either with or without their additional help. Using all these elements in the grant proposal raise the opportunity in persuading the donors to donate to this project.

Protein synthesis begins when the DNA coils provisionally relax at conduct points. In the nucleus a doubled strand of DNA temporarily partly untwists. Transcription, which is the copying of the nucleus bases on one strand of DNA, begins to happen. Free bases match with those on DNA adenine joins with thymine, guanine with cytosine, uracil substitutes thymine and joins with adenine. Forming a strand of messenger RNA. A completed strand of messenger RNA separates from the DNA, which twists back into place. The messenger RNA leaves the nucleus carrying the code for a protein into the cytoplasm. The messenger RNA with its series of codons (units of three nucleotides) for aminic group acids, attaches to a ribosome and translation starts. Translation, the sequencing of amino acids happens when free acceptor RNA with its anticodon (units of three nucleotides) from the cytoplasm matches up and links to mRNA. When warrant tRNA joins, a peptide bond links the two amino acids at the ends of tRNA together, starting a peptide chain. The first tRNA separa tes leaving its amino acid behind. The ribosome moves along the mRNA reading the code. A third tRNA joins and the next amino acid is connected by another peptide bond. The synthesis continues until a stop or termination codon completes the process and the assembled polypeptide or protein is released. (HUMAN BODY, 2001). confinement 2.1 Describe the structure and function of the cell membrane.Image of Cell membrane (lamp.tu, 2010).Cell membrane consists of a bilayer (two layers of molecules) of phospholipid (head and two tails) that is surrounded with mobile proteins. The phosphate head of phospholipid is hydrophilic, and the dipper acid tails are hydrophobic. The membrane structure depends on fatty acids molecules (lipids) in other to spread on the weewee surface. It is only one end of the lipid molecule that is attracted by water and the whole hydro cytosine tail is hydrophobic. The molecules form a monomolecular film on the water surface and scatter as very small droplets (drop of liquid). Fatty acids are able to support a double lipid bilayer when it is p ventilateed. Fatty acids in membranes are paired as phospholipids and glycolipids, joining saturated and unsaturated chains. Phospholipids are plentiful in membranes and glycerol, and are usually at the main structure. The fatty acid membrane is the storage place of the cell, it protects its content from dispersing casually, and it in any case permits control of the internal environment. Two lipid layers adhere to one another, in a double membrane, while it exposes water-soluble heads. Lipid molecules are free to lantern slide in their layer. Common polar groups are ethanolamine, serine and choline.Sphingolipids are phospholipids with serine, their saturated hydrocarbon tails are usually longer and straighter than other membrane lipids, and it bequeaths them cluster into rafts, which floats interior the membrane.Glycolipids are perchricted to the external layer of the cell membrane. They are construc ted very(prenominal)(p) phospholipids, but the serine substitutes glycerol. Polar sugar chains might extend extracurricular from the glycolipid molecules. Cholesterol straightens membranes by reducing smoothity of lipid. Rafts in particular, are rich in cholesterol. Tiny molecules that are soluble in oils, slowly pass through and through the lipid bilayer, and they are O2 ( group O) and CO2 (carbon dioxide). The lipid bilayers present a solid barrier to ions and other small molecules. The larger molecules do not have any chance of passing through lipid bilayers. The larger molecules are H+ (hydrogen), Na+ ( atomic number 11), K+ (potassium), Mg+ (magnesium), Ca+ (calcium), Cl+ (chlorine) and H2O (water).Membrane proteins has major role in determine what goes in and out of the cell. They detect and bind specified molecules, and then move them through the membrane barrier. About a half of the membrane has protein chains, the fare might be less in nerve cells because the membra nes are rich in complex fatty acids. About a third of the cells genetic substance (DNA) codes for membrane proteins show their importance to the cell. Proteins are strings of amino acids, known as polypeptides. They fold into molecular sculptures (three dimensions), which they need in other to transact task that depend on their exact shapes and properties. round proteins are at one side of the membrane while others go all the way through. Transmembrane protein channels transport specific molecules across the membrane. Majority of transmembrane protein have helical sections with other portions that are exposed on whichever side of the membrane. volute section might come together to form tunnels. The helices create a wave of contraction that moves ions from one side of the membrane to the other. Tiny ions, like potassium, calcium and sodium vigorously conduct across membranes by ATP-powered pumps. Some protein tunnels depend on gate to control the passive (inactive) flow of water a nd other polar molecules through the membrane bilayer. Protein chains might cross as beta sheet basket- like channels and allow larger molecules to pass. Protein chains might fasten in an electricity static evoke inwardly on leaflet, of the membrane, leaving the active domains to protrude (stick out) from the membrane. Long sugar chains (oligossacharides) attach to the external surface of the membrane proteins and glycolipids to form the glycocalyx. The glycocalyx admit the cells identity to the exterior. Membrane can overwhelm substances from the exterior. Endocytosis (membrane navigation) encloses large objects and drag them into the cell. other viruses use their own membrane which can combine with the cell membrane. (John Kyrk, 2010). toil 2.2 Explain the differences between osmosis, distribution, active transport and bulk transport.Cells move water molecules, food particles, and other substances through the membranes. Things like water pass through easily, and others have t o be moved through the channels. Solute is a substance that run in solvent to formulate ascendent, and solvent is a substance in which solute is dissolve to make a solution. Example is table saltwater, in which salt is the solute, and water is the solvent.Diffusion is the mixing of two substances by random motion of molecules. Molecules move from an flying field of high assiduity, to an area of low concentration. When the molecules spread out equally, diffusion stops, because there is no longer a concentration of gradient (steepness). intentness gradient, is the difference between the concentration of molecule in one area and the concentration of molecule in an adjacent (beside) area. The formation has reached its equilibrium, when the concentration of solute is the corresponding throughout a organisation.Osmosis is the diffusion of water across a semipermeable (allows some types of things pass through) membrane. Water moves across membrane from a orbit of high concentrati on of water, to an area of low concentration of water.Facilitated diffusion is a movement of particles and diffusion across the cell membranes with the help of proteins in the membranes. Particles move down the concentration gradient going from high concentration to low concentration. Facilitated diffusion increases the rate of particles that cross the cell membrane. (biologymad.com, 2010)The process of diffusion, osmosis, and facilitated diffusion, does not need any energy to be used by the cell. The three processes are known as passive transport. The processes by which the cell uses energy to move particles across the membrane, is known as active transport. The cell movement of things from low concentration, to high concentration, is known as active transport, because it needs energy to do so. The cell uses active transport to keep the right balance of sodium and potassium ions in and out of the cell. This balance is vital for muscle contraction, nutritious absorption, and nerve p ulse transmission.Bulk transport is for the movement large particles in and out of the cell. During bulk transport, large particles move across cell membrane jammed in membrane-bound sacs. Bulk transport is of two types exocytosis and endocytosis. Exocytosis is to move from indoors the cell, to right(prenominal) the cell. Wastes and cell products are packaged by the Golgi body in sacs known as Golgi vesicles. The vesicles combine with the cell membrane and materials are secreted exterior the cell. Endocytosis are materials brought into the cell. Part of the cell membrane surrounds a particle that is outside the cell. The cell pinches a part of its outer membrane to form a new vesicle. When the vesicle is within the cell, it can combine with other organelles or release its contents into cytoplasm. There are two types of endocytosis the pinocytosis and the phagocytosis. Pinocytosis is when a cell membrane surrounds a droplet of fluid and bring into the cell. Phagocytosis is when a cell engulfs (overwhelm) a solid substance and bring into the cell. Phagocytosis engulfs (surrounds and swallow) and destroys bacteria and other invaders of the body.Hypertonic solution the concentration of solutes is higher than the concentration of solutes inside the cell, example is potatoes in salt water, water left the cells (diffuses out) and the potatoes became flexible.Hypotonic solution solutes concentration is lower than the concentration of solutes inside the cell. Water diffuses into the cell, an example, is potatoes in distilled water, the water came into the cells, making the cell to squire and the potatoes becomes rigidIsotonic solution the concentration of solutes equals the concentration of solutes within the cell. (biologymad.com, 2010) projection 2.3 Give examples of materials exchanged by incompatible methods with a justification in each case.Diffusion is a very slow process, materials exchanged, are gases oxygen and carbon dioxide. The lungs have high concent ration of oxygen (O2) in the air sacs (alveoli), and a low concentration of oxygen in the store of pulmonic capillaries. Carbon dioxide (CO2) has a low concentration in the alveoli, and a high concentration in the short letter of the pulmonary capillaries. Oxygen diffuses from the air to the blood, and carbon dioxide diffuses from the blood to the air. (maexamhelp, 2010).Osmosis it is where the cells lining the small catgut, absorb water. The exchanged material is salt. Cells take in salts and become more salty, and then water follows the salts into the cell. This process also takes place in kidneys because of its large demand of water. (maexamhelp, 2010)Active transport nerve and muscle cells have sodium pump. Sodium ions (Na+) continually diffuse into the cell area of smaller concentration. Incoming sodium ions (Na+) are returned outside by the sodium pump. The nerve and muscle cells continually produce ATP to keep their sodium pump working. Another example is the assimilation of glucose and amino acids by the cells. The cells assimilate nutrients from digested food by the use of ATP. (maexamhelp, 2010).Filtration blood pressure is formed by the pumping of the heart. Blood pressure force plasma and dissolve materials through the capillary membranes into the surrounding tissue spaces. This facilitates the creation of more tissue fluid and is also how cells get glucose, amino acids, and other nutrients. (Maexamhelp, 2010).Phagocytosis and Pinocytosis cells that are stationary (immobile) receive small molecules that are attached to their membranes. The cells of the kidney tubules reabsorb small proteins by pinocytosis. (maexamhelp, 2010).Task 3.1 Explain the difference between mitosis and meiosis and explain when each occurs.Mitosis and myosis are both cells that have tricky component part processes. Duplication of DNA occurs in both of them. The difference between mitosis and meiosis is well soundless only if we know what the two cell division processe s are, and they are as followsMitosis is a cell division process that involves eukaryotic cell dividing the chromosomes in two identical set of two daughter nuclei inside its cell nucleus. This is followed by cytokinesis that equally divides the nuclei, cytoplasm, organelles and cell membrane, into two daughter cells. Both mitosis and cytokinesis come together and form the mitotic (M) stage of the cell cycle. This series of events are separate into different stages known as prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase. Mitosis happens in different ways and in different species (types). Animals, for example, go through an open mitosis process which involves the breaking down of the nuclear envelope before the chromosomes separate, and the fungi and yeast go through a close mitosis process in which the chromosomes divide inside an intact cell (undamaged cell) nucleus. (buzzle.com, 2010) gay reflex is a reduction division process that halves the number of chromosomes per cell. The DNA in the original cell is duplicated during S-phase of the cell cycle, before it starts. Meiosis separates the identical chromosomes into quaternary haploidic (a single set of unpaired chromosomes) gametes. If gametes are produced, the cells will fuse (combine) during fertilisation to produce a new diploid cell (two matched chromosomes sets). Meiosis go through fertilisation in plants. The different stages of meiosis are meiosis l, prophase l, metaphase l, anaphase l, telophase l and ll. Meiosis is needed for informal reproduction, it occurs in all eukaryotes that breed sexually. It does not occur in archaea because they reproduce asexually (no fusion of male and female sex cells gametes). (buzzle.com, 2010)The differences between mitosis and meiosis are as followsNo.MitosisMeiosis1Takes place inside somatic cells.Takes place inside gamete cells.2A single division of the contract cell results in two daughter cells. Two divisions of the flummox cell results in four m eiotic haploid gametes.3A mitotic mother cell can either be haploid or diploid.A meiotic mother cell always diploid.4The number of chromosomes per nucleus remains the same after division. The meiotic products contain haploid (n) number of chromosomes in contrast to the (2n) number of chromosomes in mother cell.5It is preceded by a S-phase in which the amount of DNA is duplicated. In meiosis, only meiosis is preceded by an S-phase.6In mitosis, there is no colligation of homologous ( mistakable) chromosomes.During prophase l, complete pairing of all homologous chromosomes take place.7There is no exchange of DNA between chromosomes. There is at least one DNA exchange per homologous pair of chromosomes.8The centromeres (region joining two parts of chromosome) split during anaphase. The centromeres do separate during anaphase ll, but not during anaphase l.9The genotype type of the daughter cells is identical to that of the mother cells.Meiotic products differ in their genotype from the moth er cell.10after mitosis, each daughter cell has exactly the same DNA strands.after meiosis, each daughter cell has only half of DNA strands.(buzzle.com, 2010)Task 4.1 Explain the need for cellular specialisation in multi-cellular organism. Each forgiving cell has different shape and size that depend on their specialised function. Speed of cells division varies it is very fast mostly in epithelial cells, and continually replaces itself. However, it is slow or non-existent in a structural complex cell. Specialised cells areEpithelial cells they are from the skin, and cover most organ and line hollow cavities.Photoreceptor cell is a type of light-sensitive cell that is found in the retina of the eye. They are activated by bright light and are responsible for colour perception (interpreting information from senses). (Integrated body, 2010)Red blood cell a bag of oxygen-carrying haemoglobin molecules. Its biconcave shape allow for maximum oxygen absorption. (Integrated body, 2010)Adipose (fat) cell its main cells, adipocytes, are huge (large) and are jam-packed with droplets of lipids (fats), which store energy in case the diet cannot worthy requirements. (Integrated body, 2010)Smooth muscle cell this large, elongated (extended), spindle-shaped cells of smooth muscle are called muscle fibres. Its shape allow for contraction by means of sliding strands of protein within. (Integrated body, 2010)Nerve cell all(prenominal) cell consist of cast of short extensions known as dendrites, which is to receive nerve signals, and also has a long wire called axon, which is to send signals to other cells. (Integrated body, 2010)Sperm (egg) cell every sperm has a head that transport the paternal (fatherly) set of genetic substances. It has a whip-like tail that propels it towards the egg. (Integrated body, 2010)Ovum (egg) cell they are giant cells and contain the maternal (motherly) complement of genetic material, and energy resources for the first cell divisions that shape ea rly embryo. (Integrated body, 2010)Task 4.2 Describe major tissue types and their functions.Tissues are groups of similar cells that carry out a common function. There are four groups of tissues in our body. They are epithelial, connective, muscle and nerve. Major tissue types and functions, are as follows (Integrated body, 20100Areola a loose connective tissue, half-solid, allows food to pass through, inside has two other connective tissue types. They are yellow elastic and white fibrous with fibrocytes and mast cells that manufacture histamine a protective inflammation and heparin an anti-coagulant. They are mostly found in the body, connecting and supporting other tissues, such as between muscles and supporting blood vessels and nerves. They function as participation and support to other tissues.Adipose these are fat cells that have fat globules. They are dictated between muscle fibres, under skin, around kidneys and at back of eyes. Their function is to protect, insulate and act as food reserve.lymphoid half (semi) solid tissue, some white fibres, lots of cells, of which majority are lymphocytes and weblike cells. They are found in lymph nodes, thymus gland, spleen, tonsils, appendix, walls, of large intestine and glands of small intestine. They function to form lymphatic organization cells and blood cells. Lymphocytes and reticular cells function to control ailment. yellowed elastic this is elastic fibres, and very few cells. They are located in the lung tissue, bronchi and trachea, arteries, stomach, bladder and other stretchy or ricocheting organs. They function as tissue enabling great expansion and recoil (shrink back).White fibrous it is a strongly connective tissue, but not elastic. They are mostly closely packed bundles of collagen fibres. The fibres run in same direction. They form ligaments and periosteum (material making up prinks) of bone. They form outer certificate of organs, for example, protection of kidneys, brain and muscle fasci a. Their function is connection and protection.Bone it is the hardest structure of the body. It is powder compact outside and cancellous (not solid) inside. It has 25% water, 30% organic substance, and 45% inorganic salts. It is found in the skeleton. As compact, it functions as dense for strength, support and protection. And as cancellous, it functions as structure bearing and cellular development.Blood is a fluid connective tissue, it has forty five percent cells, and fifty five percent plasma. It circulates inside cardio vascular system, and cells in cell production location. Its function is to transport food and oxygen to all cells and removal of waste from them. It also fights infection and clot blood.Cartilage it is firm, tough, solid tissue. It has cells known as chondrocytes, and is of three types. hyaloid is a blue and white smooth chondrocyte cells grouped together in a solid matrix (medium) and mainly resilient (hard-wearing). It covers parts of bone that form joints. T he costal cartilages, parts of larynx, trachea and bronchi. Its role is connection and protection. Yellow elastic cartilage these are fibres running (flowing) through a solid matrix. It contains fibrocytes and chondrocytes between multi-directional fibres. They are found in the pinna, the external cartilage of the ear, epiglottis, brandish which prevents food and liquid entering trachea. It is flexible function. White fibrocartilage white fibres packed with dense masses (lump). They are tough, a bit flexible, and contain chondrocytes. It is located in intervertebral discs, semi-lunar cartilages, and hip and shoulder sockets. Its function is to absorb shock.Task 4.3 Analyse body systems and assess the interdependence of their functions. The body systems are group of parts that are connected. They include organs and tissues that work together to perform particular functions. The system has separate processes inside the body, and each is dependent on the others. They work together as e fficient functioning supportive system. osteal system this is the skeleton, it a solid framework that is moveable and supportive of the body. It is where the rest of the body is built. The bone has a role in the other body systems. It is where white and red blood cells grow to build up a fatty tissue called red marrow. Its essential minerals, such as calcium, are stored in the bone, and to be released when there is shortage.Muscular system it consist virtually half of the bodys bulkiness. It works with the skeleton, and its voluntary muscles allow the body to be exact in movements. The involuntary muscles, that comprise the heart muscle and the smooth muscle, are meant to provide the essential power (force) for the working (functioning) of the respiratory, cardiovascular, and the digestive systems.Nervous system this is the brain, and it is the lay of both consciousness and creativity. The brain, through the nerves of the spinal pile and the system of nerves that branch to all ot her parts of the body, controls all body movement. It also communicates with the endocrine glands and influences the functions of the other body system.Endocrine system this is the hormones and chemicals that act (take action) on specified tissues, and then affect the bodys interior balance. It is secreted by endocrine glands and other organs. It flows in the blood and other body fluids, and also starts the changes that take place during puberty.Cardiovascular system its most basic function is pumping blood around the body. It supplies all organs and tissues with oxygenated nutrient blood. It can get use to changes in demand quickly. Waste products are removed during blood circulation.Lymphatic system it provides very important protection from infectious disease and also prevents malfunctioning of the internal tissues. (JK, 2010)Respiratory system it is made up of the nose (nasal cavities), which perk inward bound air. Also consists of the pharynx, the larynx, the trachea, the lung s and the air sacs. It is the site of oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange.Digestive system the work of the digestive system is to reduce large and complex substances to water soluble so that the cell can use them. The process is both physical and chemical. The digestive system is of two parts the alimentary canal (mouth, anus, throat, oesophagus, stomach), and the small and large intestines.urinary system its excretory organs get rid of liquid wastes. The nephrons filter the blood and remove unwanted substances as wastes, and return necessary substances and fluids to the blood. The sacking of urine waste is started by the voluntary relaxing of the sphincter. In the female, the urethra empties in the area between the clitoris and the vagina opening. And in the male, urethra, which is about twenty centimetres long, runs through the penis.Male productive system it is where sperm are produced and contained in the scrotum. The sperm and its fluid are known as semen. The semen is ejacula ted into the urethra and penis, and from there, into the females vagina.Female reproductive system it is about seven to ten centimetres long, receives the sperm from the male. The sperm must(prenominal) reach the womb. The cilia assist the sperm as they swim up towards the egg. A fertilised egg is formed if a sperm enters the egg, and it is called zygote. The zygote passes through the uterus and becomes attached to its lining. The cells increases and develop into fetus (unborn offspring). (Human Anatomy, 1982).Homeostasis all of the human bodys systems work together to maintain equilibrium, two of the body systems are very important for the nutriment of homeostasis. They are the nervous and endocrine systems.

Empowerment and Job Satisfaction in Nursing Educators
Empowerment and project Satisfaction in treat Educatorsenquiry DesignThis enquiry w tired of(p) use a descriptive correlational statisticsal mull design and involve the following variables Structural Empowerment and Job Satisfaction in treat pedagogs. This is a non-experimental descriptive correlational search that does not manipulate or escort the independent variable which is the c ar for educators. The researchers, based on the descriptive design, go out summarize the phenomena observed inside the natural environment without manipulation and also establish a correlation to determine the relationship between structural authority and job ecstasy. This duodecimal research is undertaken to investigate structural empowerment and level of job satisfaction and its sub variables to determine concepts (measureable reflections) and take a craps (concept that is man-made and deliberately used by the researchers for a specific purpose) that affect the care for educator. The assumed direction is that structural empowerment (independent variable) influences the level of job satisfactions of treat educators (dependent variable). The researchers decided that descriptive correlational pillowcase of correction design was best used to illustrate, understand and establish if thither is a significant relationship between the two constructs. This design is different to the other descriptive research designs that focus on ideas not specific to the needs of the researchers, for example a comparative design compares and contrasts two or more classifys which is inappropriate for a need solely based on nursing educators. A longitudinal design, studies precedents over a period of clock time to show trends and growth changes across a span of time, which the researchers did not sum up necessary at this point in time for the study ( perhaps for future researchers that replicate this study) . A retrospective and prospective design was ill fitted for the researche rs specific purpose, which was to establish the current level of job satisfaction of nursing educators based on their perceived structural empowerment.*Insert and lift rendering from book*Respondents of the StudyThis study result exclusively utilize nursing educators in the Filipinos specifically nursing educators employed in the Metro manila Area and more precisely the trains in the University Belt. The inclusion criteria dictate that the respondents of the study are current employed educators in accredited nursing schools spelling a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Explicitly, the educators testament be employed within the schools encompassing the University Belt in manila news report and make believe a minimum of a masteral degree. For this study, the respondents must be a fulltime phallus of the faculty and be employed greater than six months in the de servingment. The educator must teach a minimum of maven major nursing course and or is a clinical instructor for greater than one semester of a school year. The exclusion criteria dictate that an adjunct educator or a professor teaching in another accredited school or institution other than the one surveyed in exit be excluded for this study.Sampling TechniqueThe ingest for this study is selected to be optimistically good example of the entire nursing educator population in the Metro Manila Area. A probability try bequeath be done in order to ergodicize selection of respondents. This method is optimal to obtain a representative sample because the respondents are not subject to the researchers biases. A lot sampling allow be administered to determine the individuals included in the study selected through a simple stratified random sampling. The researcher allow for select a random sample from a larger commonplace population (all accredited nursing schools within the University Belt) and from that batch a selected quota get out be determined to identify the strata of the population (how many nursing educators are in the schools selected) this number will then be proportioned as a whole to determine the total and again the individuals randomly selected. The random sampling will become successively smaller units until the desired proportionate random sampling will be made. The sample size will be determined by the target population and the Slovin formula.Research SettingThe research study will be conducted in the de facto sub district in Manila, unofficially named the University Belt or U-belt where in, there is a greater denseness of colleges and universities in a four mile (six kilometer) area. The university belt is described as an irregular cresent with a tail encompassed by the following areas of Sampaloc, Quiapo, Santa Cruz, Santa Mesa, and San Miguel. The following colleges and universities that offer a bachelors in nursing degree are forgathered in this area and will be included in this study *the cluster sampling will determine the actual colleges included in the paper*Arellano UniversityThe College of Nursing Arellano University 2600 Legarda Street, Sampaloc, Manila, PhilippinesIn 1954, Arellano University opened a school of nursing which offered a basic nursing course. In April 1960, the School of Nursing expanded its curricular offerings by adding courses in post-basic nursing with majors in public wellness and clinical teaching. The School of Nursing was later renamed College of Nursing. At about the similar time, a preparatory medical course was added to the general curriculum of the College of humanistic discipline and Sciences. The Arellano University School of Nursing grew out of the Graduate Nurse Program which was unionised in 1960. The course leading to the B.S.N. Degree was started in 1965. Its first group of graduates took the Board Examination for Nurses in June, 1970.The college offers the following courses Bachelor of Science in Nursing with optionto complete and earn degree from Edith Cowan University, Perth, Western A ustralia and an International Nursing Program of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing To be completed at either Alderson-Broaddus College, Philippi, West Virginia, USA orEdith Cowan University, Perth, Western Australia. http//www.arellano.edu.ph/colleges/nursingCentro Escolar UniversityCollege of the Holy Spirit-De Ocampo Memorial CollegeEulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology furthermost Eastern UniversityFEATI UniversityCollege of the Holy SpiritLa Consolacion College ManilaManuel L. Permission to use these tools were give (see Appendix) still waiting on email and reply from the authors*The study will utilize the Conditions for Work speciality II (CWEQ-II) for structural empowerment developed by Dr. Heather K. Spence Laschinger which is based on Kanters theory of structural empowerment. The Questionnaire measures four empowerment dimensions 1. perceived access to opportunity 2. support 3. nurture and 4. Resources in the work environment. The questionnaire takes about 10-30 minutes to accomplish. The actor has been used a great deal in research and especially nursing since the 2000s and has consistently shown reliableness and validity. ( source http//publish.uwo.ca/hkl/tools/cweq/index.html)*Keep this here I havent seen the questionnaire at any rate since the author hasnt emailed me alone this is a good reference just incase its from a website im not sure if its reliable so stem off on this part* The tool consists of 19 heads (39 questions) that measure Kanters 6 components of structural empowerment described by opportunity, information, support, resources, formal power, and liberal power and a 2-item global empowerment scale which is used for construct validation purposes.Items on each of the six subscales are summed and averaged to provide a score for each subscale ranging from 1-5.These scores of the 6 subscales are then summed to manufacture the total empowerment score (score range 6-30).Higher scores represent high perceptions of empowerment. The McCloskey Mueller Satisfaction Scale was developed by Charles W. Mueller and Joanne Comi McCloskey. In the article print in the Academy of Management Journal 1990, the MMSS is said to be a reliable and valid measurement for job satisfaction in nurses. The McCloske y Mueller instrument being designed for health care settings, dominated the other instruments in terms of the combination of psychometric properties and ease of use. The MMSS is a 31 item questionnaire with the sub scales of Extrinsic rewards, scheduling satisfaction, famly/work balance, co-workers, interaction, professional opportunities, praise/recognition, control and responsibility global scale. A 5 point Likert response kinfolk was used for each various item (5) very satisfied, (4) moderately satisfied, (3) uncomplete satisfied nor dissatisfied, (2) moderately satisfied, (1) very dissatisfied.SourceMueller, C., McCloskey, J. 1990. Nurses job satisfaction a proposed measure s and efficiency.AcademyofManagementJournal, 36(6)1345-1347.Validation of Research InstrumentThe Conditions for Work Effectiveness II (CWEQ-II) for structural empowerment and Mueller and McCloskey Satisfaction Scale questionnaires will be pre- tested to a select number of respondents similar to the determ ined sample size, this will ensure internal validation of the instruments and determine if the tools adequately pass judgment what is needed by the researchers and that the respondents have no difficulty in answering the questionnaires. These test respondents will not be added to the studys sample size. Since these instruments were not made and administered in the Philippines the researchers deliberated on the need for interpreting the questionnaires but deemed that the original documents need not be altered because of the educational increase and profession of the respondents. Any irregularities or issues with the questionnaires will be considered and further changes will be made if discrepancies arise during the administration and interpretation.Data Gathering helpThe data gathering process begins and is determined by the acquiescence of the dean of Nursing of each college and university selected in the research to allow their faculty to enroll in the study. If the proper per missions have been granted, the time period for administration of the questionnaires will be the school year 2014-2015 in the months of June to August. The total respondents for each college and university will be determined and in line with ethical and privacy concerns, will be informed about the confidentiality of the results and if deemed necessary the results will be forwarded at the Deans request. As individual respondent permission is granted the respondent will be given the questionnaires to be fulfilled and collected by the decreed liaison within the institution to be forwarded to the researchers. The data will be collated from the colleges and universities selected and tallied based on the scoring scales for each questionnaire.Statistical Treatment of DataMam Nava * I dont get this part angella
